Others, you and I as a human in the
world are social beings. Every day, we always meet, interact, and communicate
with the others around us as a form of social beings who always socialize with
the others. In this writing, I want to tell you about people around me, my
families and relatives, and my best friends. I hope you can enjoy my writing
and understand well about myself.
First, I will tell you about my
families and relatives. Why did I write families and not family? I have two
types of family here. The first family is my real family including my mother,
my father and my relatives. The second one is my social communities that I
joined several years ago.
Now, I will tell you about them one by
one and start from my father first. My father is Chinese and my mother is
Javanese. My father was born on July, 12th 1960 in Surabaya, East
Java, Indonesia. He was a temperamental and nice man, but he did not talk
toomuch. He passed away several years ago on October, 8th 2013
because of lung cancer. My mother was born on April, 3rd 1966 in
Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. She is a beautiful, nice and kind woman, but
she is very discipline. She had a dream when she was young. She wanted to be a
female soldier or a policewoman. However, dream is just a dream. Because of her
height does not comply with criteria of Armed Forces Academy, she could not be
a female soldier or a policewoman. Poor her.
I have relatives from my father and my
mother. You can have a look on the first picture above, Chinese and Javanese
combine into one. My father has two elder sisters, one elder brother and one
little sister. My mother has two elder sisters, two elder brothers, one little
sister and three little brothers. I also have relatives from my grandfathers
and my grandmothers, but I do not exactly know how many relatives I have from
my grandfathers and my grandmothers.
I have another family from my
communities that I joined several years ago. I joined Save Street Child
Surabaya that helps and teaches street children in Surabaya and Rumah Bahasa, a
place for learning languages in Surabaya. Save Street Child Surabaya is
formed by several youths based on the affection
and concern about street children in Indonesia.
They wanted to help street children in Indonesia, so they made this community
in 2012. Save Street Child has some learning locations in Surabaya like H. R.
Muhammad, JMP, Arjuna, Traffic Light Ambengan, etc. Those learning locations have their own
schedules. For example: H. R. Muhammad every Sunday at 10.00 to 14.00, JMP
every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 16.00 to 18.00, etc. Even though I am
a volunteer at H. R. Muhammad, JMP and Arjuna, I love all of Save Street
Child’s members. I got a lot of lessons from
this community such as loving one another, sharing
with others and caring about anything
around us.
At first, I joined
Rumah Bahasa because I wanted to learn Chinese. However, I could not enter
Chinese class because I had to wait until there was a new Chinese class opened.
I could not enter Chinese class that was available at that time because I would
be confused
if I do not start from the beginning or have
the basic of Chinese before. After that, I waited for the new Chinese class
until now. While I was waiting for the new Chinese class, I entered German
class. I was offered by one of the tutors at Rumah Bahasa to become an English
tutor there. Initially, I did not want to be an English tutor there, but then I
changed my mind. I got a lot of friends there until now whom I consider like my
own family.
Second, I will tell you about my
best friends. I have a lot of best friends from my school, my community and
also near my house. I have two best friends at Elementary School, seven best
friends at Junior High School, four best friends at Senior High School, twelve
best friends at University and ten best friends near my house. I love all of my
best friends. They help, support, and are always there for me. Even though we
cannot always meet as before, we still keep in touch via mobile phone. Sometimes
we hang out together to free our longing.
They
are my precious treasure I have ever had. I never thought how I could live
without them. I hope I can always be with them forever. From my writing here, I
hope you can know and understand well about myself. I hope you as one of the
readers of my writing can also be my best friends even my family.
